My First Birthday Cake


A week ago I challenged myself to bake a birthday cake and I did last Friday (19.03.2010). It was for my husband's birthday. Congrats me!! Supermoist Chocolate Cake, indeed the theme deco was for the children because everyone was so...excited. I lost count of my youngest son visiting the fridge just to look at the deco, colorful sweets. To cut story short....everyone love the taste of chocolate....yummy...! Small victory indeed... for a beginner....at least I'm happy my first goal achieved this month....No recipe will be attached here....property of Mrs. Lim School of Baking and....but anyway not to disappoint any one I'll attach one of the Kek Warisan Bonda chocolate cake recipe. Pernah buat kek ni, tapi belum menjadi. Thanks to my mom-in-law for the recipe given when my husband and I were still engaged...nostalgia bah..


SPECIAL CHOCOLATE CAKE

Bahan-bahannya:
1 cawan serbuk koko (diayak)
1 cawan air
1/2 cawan gula kasar
250 gm tepung naik sendiri
4 biji telur
360 gm gula halus
1 sudu teh essen vanilla
250 gm mentega
Adunan topping
1 tin susu pekat (kecil)
1 cawan serbuk koko
1/3 cawan minyak jagung
Secubit garam
2 sudu besar essen vanilla

Cara-cara membuatnya:
  1. Campurkan serbuk koko, air dan gula dan panaskan atas api kecil hingga pekat. Biarkan sejuk.
  2. Pukul mentega dan gula hingga kembang, kemudian masukkan telur satu persatu dan pukul lagi.
  3. Masukkan essen vanilla dan tepung sedikit demi sedikit.
  4. Akhir sekali masukkan cecair koko yang sudah disejukkan tadi dan gaul.
  5. Bakar adunan dalam oven sederhana (360oF) selama 30 minit. Keluarkan dari oven dan biarkan sejuk.
  6. Untuk membuat topping, pukul semua bahan-bahannya sampai sebati dan licin.
  7. Potong ke tadi di tengah-tengah dan sapukan sebahagian topping tadi. Topping yang selebihnya tuangkan di bahagian atas dan tepi kek tadi.

Peringatan : Simpan kek di dalam peti sejuk supaya topping tidak cepat cair. Keluarkan dari peti sejuk 1/2 jam sebelum dihidang.
